The latest SCT-RAIL Unimog RRV’S have been revealed during 2023 and will be on demonstration and exhibition stands over the Summer.  They have been developed by the Mercedes-Benz ‘Expert Partners’ for the rail sector, ZAGRO in Germany and the first products available to order are two superb access platform designs:  a long reach MEWP with pivoting basket and a stable scissor-lift model with a large expandable working area.
Developments continue in this important sector and with an ongoing design focus on zero emissions products, expect more announcements to come over the course of 2023

The E-MAXI battery shunters, electric and hybrid railcar movers from ZAGRO are clean, powerful and extremely manoeuvrable turning within their own axis with four wheel steering, each with a rotation of 130 degree range.

Four individual wheel motors provide optimum drive with microprocessor control. For train and rolling stock manufacturing sites, large industrial centres, tramways, freight terminals and railyards they are becoming the equipment of choice to replace ageing, rail-bound diesel shunters. Modern Electric and Hybrid RRV’s are low cost, low maintenance and simple, one-man operation makes them the ideal replacement for polluting and unreliable diesel trains.


If you’re operations demand your RRV’s to be working outside for the large part of the day then perhaps a hybrid diesel and electric model would suit you better: For outside use, a clean and modern diesel engine is in charge of power delivery saving your stored battery energy for those times when it is necessary to run indoors.

Some models can be ordered with a fitted cab for operator comfort during inclement weather. when working outdoors and it is possible to pair E-MAXI models as master and slave units for double the tractive force, yet they’re still operable through a single remote control unit.
